Ms. Kai Lin has 6 years teaching experience. 

She has been teaching both privately and in International schools since 2015. She has conducted lessons in the form of both group classes and private lessons. She teaches students by ensuring that they first develop an interest and a passion for learning before thoroughly going through the basics with them. It is important that they have a good foundation but also enjoy the learning experience.

She can also teach pop songs / songs that are specially requested by the students if they want to learn songs beyond the books specified, as she is able to play by ear and can guide them to play easier versions of the songs.

Her strength is that she is good with children and parents have always commented that the students thoroughly enjoy the lessons and are always looking forward to the next lesson.

This is my 7th year teaching piano. I have experience teaching beginners (before Grade 1), as well as teaching students taking Grades 1-5. My students range from 5 years old to adult learners.

Before I started teaching, I have performed publicly and in front of audiences, including at Library@Esplanade.

While I believe in structure and consistency, I also believe in making lessons fun and understandable. I tailor my lessons to suit the needs and interests of the student. I strongly believe that every student can grow to enjoy the piano, and I am dedicated to growing students' love for music.

I will make sure that all my students' questions are answered and that they know what they should do in practice before the next lesson. I also make sure that all lessons end on a happy note.

Ms. Sherine Tan is a full time piano teacher with more than 7 years of experience in teaching both children and adults from 3 to 40 years old.

While she specialises in teaching the classical grading syllabus with most of her students achieving Merits and Distinctions in their piano and theory exams, she has also helped many students explore music through more contemporary approaches.

All in all, she enjoys teaching a lot, especially loves children and believes in bringing out the best in all her students through much love, patience and encouragement.

She has had the privilege of playing the piano and performing annually with her music school since she was 6 years old. From finding it a chore to practicing the piano, she gradually grew to love the sound of the piano and came to appreciate the techniques of piano playing.

I have been teaching piano on a part time basis for 2 years. I am currently making a switch to teaching piano full time and meanwhile is making plans to continue lessons to complete my diploma.

The students i am teaching are mostly in primary school and most of them have some interest in learning piano, and through my lessons, I help them to explore and develop their passion and interest for music and piano. It is very important that my students first and foremost enjoys the lessons before I build on the technical and theoretical aspects of learning the piano.

I have also prepared my students for ABRSM examinations and they have all done well in their respective exams.

Current Piano Teaching experience:
An experienced teacher teaching children and adult learners for graded and leisure piano.I have keen interest in professional career as a Piano Teacher, with an emphasis to nurture children and adults alike for graded piano and/ leisure syllabus.

I was engaged by the MOE to conduct music education at 2 Primary schools since Jan 2015.

I creatively taught music and conducted group activities to about 22 classes across Primary 1 to Primary 6 classes (6 to 12 years old) using MOE-approved syllabus.
For instance, I engage the class through body percussion to impart basic music concepts such as rhythm and dynamics. Students are also encouraged to improvise and create their own musical patterns or ostinato.

I also incorporate fun-elements during music lessons such as engaging class in small groups to have hands-on learning through percussion instruments (e.g., Castanet), coupled with singing.

For younger levels, I also conduct Music and Movements using Nursery Rhymes to develop gross motor skills while singing.

Overview

I customise lessons based on student’s pace such as learning pieces they enjoy to spark their interest and motivation. Ultimately, I believe in imparting the joy and beauty of music to my students given my experience, credentials, patience and passion.

I truly believe in making lessons engaging using interactive and fun approaches to impart basic music concepts such as beats to strengthen their aural training.

My teaching styles include using pictorial aids to facilitate my teaching as these are also especially important children and adults for optimal learning.

Thus, I hope to be given the chance to be a professional music educator given my experience, passion, credentials and my zest to impart the invaluable beauty of music.

For me, playing the piano gives me joy, but teaching people how to play music is priceless. I love sharing the joy of music with my students, by helping them to not only pass their exams, but also learn composition, and playing songs in pop and jazz styles. 

Some of my students have achieved Distinctions in their ABRSM theory Grade 5 and practical exams, and have also passed their Grade 7 practical exams. Most of them can improvise their own music using chord progressions and have fun expressing themselves on the piano. 

I have 8 years of teaching experience in piano, London College of Music Associate Teaching Diploma, 2 years Piano Major at Lasalle College Of The Arts and ABRSM Grade 8 Piano and Theory. All these have helped me to adapt to every student and teaching them in a way that is best suited for them.

I can play guitar and drums too, and have performed piano/guitar and drums in bands in various locations around Singapore.

Ms. Sharmaine Toh has been teaching under JoyWaltzStudio at an ad-hoc basis since October 2017. I have taught a group of 15 students aged 4-8 years old at beginner level from the Canadian International School for a Music Camp as well as a group of 10 students aged 4-6 years old at beginner level from Etonhouse Newton.

She likes to interact with children and will always try her best to make lessons fun and engaging for them. Being someone who is also able to play the clarinet and guitar, I enjoy imparting a variety of music skills to my students.

Mr. Abraham Chua has 1 year in teaching young kids non-exam syllabus. 

He performed in various charity events such as Startsmall and OperationSmileis male pianist whom fell in love with piano since young. He is a JC graduate, from River Valley High School.

As a teacher, he always make sure to get to understand his students first, what's their aim in learning the piano and why they do so etc, so that he roughly know what should his approach be. 

He is also confident in handling young children as he is more comfortable in teaching them. He aim to instill the love in music to his students, such that when teacher and student part ways, a valuable takeaway is there.

Ms. Sok Kian has been teaching piano since 1995. She taught students of all ages, She has been teaching piano since 1995. She taught students of all ages, experienced in guiding and preparing students for both practical and theory ABRSM examinations from grade 1 to grade 8. 

She always try to make her lessons fun and engaging for her students because when they are interested, that is when they learn the quickest! She will also tend to teach a little bit of pop music and accompaniment.

Ms. Crystal Loh has 3 years teaching experience.

She has been learning the piano ever since she was 6 and has 13 years playing experience. When teaching, she takes into account the student's weakness, strengths and interests and make use of them to nurture her students' interest and skill.

She always spend the first lessons getting to know her students so as to plan out the method in which she will teach. All students will have their lessons conducted in a way that suits their learning method.

Ms. Florence Pau has 6 years of experience teaching in her home studio and at students' place. She has taught 10 students with ages ranging from 5 to 40. Her students have achieved 100% passing rate in ABRSM piano exams and more than 30% of them obtained distinction in both theory and practical exams.

She started playing the piano at 5 years old. She has developed a strong passion for music. She loves teaching piano because she gets to motivate students to unleash their potential for music. Seeing their improvements is the largest joy in teaching. She would first understand the goals of the parents and the students, whether learning to play the piano is an interest for leisure or whether there is a genuine interest in playing music and learning more about music history.

Ms. Florence organize a music performance at her home studio every six months, in order to provide opportunities for her students to appreciate and learn from their peers. In addition, this also helps to overcome stage fright, ensuring them to be well-prepared for their piano exams. 

Besides that, she works with her friends who are also teaching and they like to give our students mock examination before their ABRSM exam so that our students will be well-prepared for their examinations.

She provides detailed comments for her students every week when they come for lessons and ensure they understand the ways to improve in their music playing. For the young students aged from 5 to 12, she will grade them weekly based on their efforts in practices and class behavior as a form of motivation. She works well with parents so that they are always well-informed about their children's learning. 

She believe different students have different needs so I can be firm or fun in her teaching based on the needs of her students.

Ms. Joo Ye started playing the piano at 6 years old. She has developed a strong passion for music when started to serve in the worship ministry as a keyboardist. She has more than 7 years of experience in playing Contemporary Christian music.

Her objective is to build a career as a Piano Teacher that allows her to share my musical knowledge and skills to people and most importantly to spread the word of God through music.
